haven't seen baked maple in person. in the pictures it looks like a light rosewood.
i sometimes (oftentimes) have bad taste. tv yellow, with maple neck and black blocks is hot to me. haha

From everything I am reading the baked maple fret boards are great. However, people are saying that the obeche fret boards are really thirsty and it just sucks up the bore oil. As far as sound and playability goes, I have heard no complaints on either.
I am confident the baked maple boards will be fine because, it's maple, it's rock hard. The jury is still out on obeche though, only time will tell.

i think those sg jr's look great, but i've never been able to get on with the feel of an sg's body. something about the thinness that works on the mustang just doesn't work for the sg.
