NGD: Squier CVC Tele

Post by sonicboom »

Yep, I walked into a shop at the weekend, checked out the double-bound-sunburst mint-guarded glossy-necked beautiness of the thing, played it, and bought it.
When I got it home, I had a really close look at the fit & finish - mostly because I couldn't believe how well it's put together. Just lush, and even the bridge plate is dead-on square - something Fender weren't able to do with my Baja Tele.
It's totally old news but, as I'm sure you can tell, I'm seriously blown away with this. I'd post pics, but you've seen this guitar many times already.
It's just a revelatory fine guitar.
Better than a Fender.
Period.
Good job, Squier.

(And it looks even greater with the ol' ashtray bridge cover on, btw.)

Every time I think about getting a new guitar (and thusly trading my CV Tele away) I realize that I would quite possibly end up with a far worse guitar.

great guitars and like all the CVs great quality for the price. There are a few nice upgrades you can do to it as well. Mine had a humbucker route in the neck. not sure if they are still doing this though.

Yeah, I mean to check out that neck routing at some point. No plans to do anything like that to it - I wouldn't change a thing right now - but it's good to have the readymade option.
Go try one, Thomas. You know you want to...

That was Merchant City @ 299. According to the site, they've gone back to preorder, which may mean no stock or low stock. Dunno about the other Glesky shops.

Ah see, that's the thing. Go take a look and you'll be drawn in by the double-bound-sunburst mint-guarded glossy-necked scrumptuosity of the thing.
Then you'll play it, muttering "fuuu..." under your breath.
You know how that ends, already.

Congrats - am still loving my CV Tele I got a few weeks ago. Really can't fault it for the price, it plays as well as my guitars that are many times more expensive.

I love my CV P bass.

If I ever do the fender thing again I will probably get a CV Strat or Tele.
