Liek the black/gold and black/red combos. 2K is a joke though, you'd expect exotic woods and thru-neck malarky for that money.

CV duos are probably of similar quality. the 90s ones are definitely not. and neither are very accurate reissues like this. this has the correct body and pickguard shape, and the correct pickup locations/positions. I still wouldn't pay $2K for it... but some people might. maybe it will get fender to consider an accurate reissue.

Nothing wrong with a three barrel bridge - you just need a $12 set of compensated saddles. I like brass, but they're available in steel and aluminum too. :)

The tuners on that very nice looking Van Zandt look like Gotoh SD91's - I've got those on my Duo Sonic and absolutely love them. They're super smooth and they stay in tune great. They look cool too. But yeah - I'm sorry, but two grand is way more than most shortscalers are going to want to pay for a Duo Sonic. No matter how well done.

$2K and you would still have to sand that ridiculous horseshit logo off the headstock. Does anyone think there is suddenly a market for these?

Considering this seems like a Japan only thing, yes. Aren't short scales the biggest sellers in japan?

For $2k I would expect them to come standard with compensated saddles.

I guess I'm trying to understand why they think they can charge that much for this guitar, considering this is more expensive than even the highest end Jaguar from Fender, or even most of their high end guitars.
