Did you play the older big box model or the XO model? The new XO is a nice improvement on the original, especially when it comes to noise issues. The Phaser is very lush and the auto wah is very good. The vibrato and trem are decent, but not as good as other dedicated trem/vibrato pedals but okay. I tend to use the Wiggler for my tremolo/vibrato sounds. The Manual switch is cool for freezing the phaser /wah to give the sound a particular tone without oscillation.benecol wrote:I'm also referring to the many other effects forums I read, and more importantly, the fact I've played them both. The Worm's always been one of EHX's duffers.
I wouldn't call it a duffer though. It's definitely not as popular as the Polychorus or Small Clone Chorus, it not bad as far as Multi-effects are concerned. It can also be have fairly inexpensively used.

That's totally fine. Everyone should chime in so Pens has as many perspectives as possible so he can find the right effect for him. Modulation isn't just vibrato/tremolo which is why I included the Worm as something else to consider. I don't think they are bad settings , but since I have the Wiggler I use that more for trem/vibrato stuff. Most multi-effect pedals tend to be stronger on certain effects and weaker on others. If Pens is only interested in vibrato/trem pedal, then I would recommend The Wiggler. The tubes give it more of a warm amp feel as opposed to a digital effect.benecol wrote:See, if the trem and vibrato are "decent, but not as good as other dedicated trem/vibrato pedals but okay", I wouldn't recommend it in a thread when someone is looking for a modulation pedal. Which is why I chimed in.

Okay, just finished Doog's demo. It does indeed sond kool. Thank you for taking the time to do that.
I won't be able to really do anything final until after xmas, but now this puts a new wrench in the works. I've actually discounted the TC Vibrato once I found out it was DSP, so I couldn't mod that anyway. If I'm going to go that route, I'll just do the M5.
