some more observations with a bit of reflection (and wine and conversations). the neck reminded me of the Sonic Youth sig guitars I played but bigger & the guitar sounded so nice it was the first time in a long time of playing a guitar in a shop that I didn't feel conscious about anything, it was just me & the guitar and nothing else. The bridge felt better at playing PM style guitar than my early 70s JM.

its in the same condition as when I got it from Fran. did it look like someone had attacked the pickguard with an HB pencil when you sold it? I'll try and get some shots today for the blue thread

I will be finished making car payments by the end of February, so I'm thinking by the end of march/early april, it'll be time to buy one of these as a birthday present for myself since I'll finally be able to afford another guitar once the car payments are over! These guitars look sweet and I'm hearing nothing but good things about them, so that is very exciting!

i got it from long & mcquade. i'm not sure if they have any out on the floor yet but i had pre-ordered mine in mid-september. my friend also ordered around then and we both got it just a couple of days ago.
It doesn't NEED it. I used a regular TOM with my Jag's trem for years without breaking a string, didn't cause all kinds of crazy tuning problems either... as long as your saddle isn't burred or sharp (which would cause problems anyway, trem or no) you'll be fine.
