Matsumoku made guitars for Greco and Ibanez. That is probably the relation for this model.

Some Ibanez-branded Matsumoku guitars were being sold under a few other brand names.
This guitar I know more about but you don't hear about it as much... I consider it the Explorer version of the Moderne (if the Moderne is a Vee of sorts).
The Futura was yet another guitar Gibson designed and started to build prototypes of, but never saw production... yet it did get picked up later by Hamer (who kept calling it the Futura and all, and had a Rick Nielsen sig which my friend has one of). It was also another one reissued in the '80s by Gibson after someone else's copies were out. This one was designed before the Explorer.
Gibson Futura
Hamer Futura
Then Epi released this Futura Custom Prophecy Guyliner X-Treme model

^those epiphone prophecy series guitars are really nice, they just have some cosmetic stuff i would rather not deal with. otherwise, worth every penny.
Wouldn't keeping these things in tune with that sort of string-tree layout be, like, disastrous? I've always wondered, since the Musicvox Spaceranger was so frustrating in this regard:
Gibbon's custom doesn't have string trees, but then it doesn't have any other concessions in the name of leaving them off either, like an improved tuner layout.

$399 with case is an amazingly fair deal.
Yes,back in September they had them for sale for $399 at Steve's Music Store in Toronto but they all sold out now. I sent an email the Logical and they told me that the entire run had sold out but they plan to make them available again next year. They also told me that $399 was Steve's Sale price but the regular price is $449. They are going to let me know when they are avaible again. It will probably be a couple of months.

Hey is it my home!
Steve's is pretty cool. A few to many "yoooo duuuuuuuddddeeeee" skaters bois with full sleeve tatoos that work there.
I am also a jaded old-man.

for real. it has to be one of the worst headstock designs of all time. it's as ugly as it is dysfunctional. otherwise I think the moderne is pretty cool. the ibanez/greco versions easily trump the gibson thanks to throwing out the wack headstock. I think they would look good with the classic pointy V headstock, since they are something like a V with an easier to balance lower half. the epiphone protype (or whatever they are) looks good with the hockeystick style one.

Terry, the owner of Logical Guitars told me this:
"For some reason the Moderne has caught fire (not the guitar itself!) and we are completely sold out right now. This guitar is most popular in the USA! We are scheduled to start production of this model soon. It will probably be a couple of months. "
You can preorder one from Logical Guitars. The price from them is $449 plus shipping to the USA is $50 or you can contact Steve's Guitars and see if you can get a better deal through them.Logical will not compete in price with their retail dealers so you may be able to get one for $399 at Steves but I don't know for sure, you have to ask them.
