My amp just died yesterday. I plugged it in and no sound comes out. I've tryed other cabs and cables and all that stuff, it's the amp...
The valves all light up. I poked them and no sound came out. Any advice? should i just take it to a tech? tha last time i did that the fucker made me pay almost 80 euros for a bunch of stuff i didn't want...
The amp is a orange dual terror btw.
Also, the amp has a 8 ohm and a 16 ohm out, i can't plug it to a 4ohm cab right? and can i plug a 4ohm out amp to a 8ohm cab?

No can't plug it into a 4ohm cab.sp3k wrote:Also, the amp has a 8 ohm and a 16 ohm out, i can't plug it to a 4ohm cab right? and can i plug a 4ohm out amp to a 8ohm cab?
You could plug a 4ohm out into an 8ohm cab and it would be "ok", but it does totally depend on the amp and the output transformer.
I'd just take it to a tech. Assuming that you've checked that the volume isn't at zero

its a bassman 100 that the guys in my new "studio" have. It sounds so good with the 2x15 speakers, but i would like to try it on my 2x12 cab.Thom wrote: You could plug a 4ohm out into an 8ohm cab and it would be "ok", but it does totally depend on the amp and the output transformer.

The tech fixed it in a few minutes. Some really thin wire couldn't take the bass power of the dwarfcraft robot devil, so it got disconnected. He soldered a new better one and had to change to fuses.
