Behringer Pedals?

Post by 71Smallbox »

Does anyone else appreciate the great budget deals you can get with these? I have the VB-2 clone and I love it, it sounds as good as my friend's real Boss version. Which other Behringer pedals do you recommend?

i have a dd400 and it is spectacular. it has tap tempo and the ability to run a delay on top of another delay, so essentially the delay has a delay. behringer is very underrated in pedal quality.

I've had their vintage delay but it broke - I opened it up to adjust the internal trim pot and couldn't get it to work again :(

Sounded great though.

They can't be as worse than Boss in that regard, or can they? They just use a buffer like all the others?

I had a VD400 (DM-2 clone), RV600 (Verbzilla), CC300 (DC-2), and VP1 (Small Stone) and they were all solid pedals. Sounded good and no issues. The only reason I don't have them anymore was because I needed to sell them to buy other things.

I had an RM600 Rotary Machine rotary cab emulator that was pretty good, until I plugged a 12V supply into it. The main drawback was it needed you to hold the pedal down gently for 3 seconds to start changing speed.
I have a Vintage Delay, which I haven't really played with but is on the pedalboard for occasional use.
I have a flanger that isn't as good IMHO as the Electric Mistress and the trem which I don't currently use but quite like

The Super Fuzz (Boss Hyper Fuzz) is great. I have the Slow Motion (Boss Slow Gear) and it is quite good but quite limited.

I've used the RV-600 reverb machine non-stop for a few years. It's proper bo.

I've also got the Spectrum Enhancer (like a Harmonic Energizer but harsh and cheap sounding), the Hi Band Flanger (cheesy fun), the Warp Distortion (flabby and useless, but with massive low-end), and I used to have the Vibrato pedal (pointless).

ive had a few behringer pedals NEVER had any issues whatsoever. ive gigged em pretty extensivley as well so dont listen to people that tell you theyll fall apart at the first whiff of trouble.

they arent gonna set the world alight with inventive features and sounds but for players on a budget you can beat em.

rv600
to100
tu300
dd600

all stood up to about 2-3 years gigging (at least 8-10 gigs per month) without any trouble

i love my reverb machine and had quite a few others as well which only one had any issues. For the money they are great pedals and don't understand some of the hate they get. I guess its like Squier guitars

It's all snobbery, mixed with a little bit of wariness from people who have encountered slightly shoddy Behringer products before, mostly from quite some time ago before they built their enormous factory city in China.

I bet some of it is also brand loyalty toward Boss, too. Some people just really, really, really love their Boss stuff. And others are probably a little annoyed that Behringer turn out clones of their Boss pedals they paid £80-£160 for a fifth of that price, or lower. I have bought the sum total of two Boss pedals in my entire life. That's the LS2 Line Selector and the floor tuner. The only reason I have the Boss versions and not the Behringers is that I bought them before the Behringer clones came out (that, and the Cash Generator near me had them for £30 each, brand new in the bos, THE FOOLS). I have been meaning to get a few more Behringer pedals, to be honest, I just haven't got around to it. I'm probably going to pick up the delay soon.

The VT999 is my main distortion device. no other Behringer stuff in use at the moment, though. all snobby stuff like Boss, Fender, MBM and Fredric Effects. I'm not a pedal guy anyway, though :) II need some dirt and since I have it I use a floor tuner.

I have the acoustic sim ADI21, and the sansamp clone GDI21. The ADI quit working after a while, which was a shame because it had a really neat dirty overdrive tone that I've used for some bedroom recordings. Sounds nothing like an acoustic, but it's a neat overdrive. The GDI sounds like a distortion, I use it for bedroom riffing to write stuff.

I've tried using them in my gig board and I could not. They are too noisy for me and did not sound good through my Twin. I'm also wary of the plastic switches and such.

Wasn't that one of the ones with a full on metal case, though? The ones I have are all plastic.

I can testify to the fact that it still works fine as that very pedal is now on my board.
