Did you ever check on that Lefty Jag-stang I bought for Sven on CL? I don't think his friend ended up buying it from him. It was pretty awesome. Paid $600 for it, which is amazing for a lefy one.Pens wrote:Yeah, I don't care if I'm lefty, I'd buy any Jagstang I came across at this point just because they constantly go through periods of selling for retarded high amounts.

Yeah, he had long sold it on by the time I found out about it.taylornutt wrote:Did you ever check on that Lefty Jag-stang I bought for Sven on CL? I really don't understand this AT ALL.
Like the price of MIJ Jag-Stangs is somehow tied to crude oil or something else completely arbitrary.
Locally i have seen righties sell for $400-$900 in good condition with a case.
Thrashed ones go for $250-$500.
Those ranges drive me batty.
i bought one high and sold it low to get some cash in hand to buy a brand new '65RI mustang at ~20% off the advertised price.
Should have held onto the Jag-Stang instead of taking the loss.
Some have speculated (probably just the folks selling them) that there's a pretty good chance the original MIJ/CIJ run could appreciate in value due to:
-teh kurdt legacy
-a relatively low number of them having been made
-probably not the most cared for set of guitars; would probably be fewer examples of them remaining in 'good shape' every year.
But I dunno if i believe the hype.
I'd probably pull the trigger if a local one popped up outta the woodwork, but i'm not actively persuing them.

This is what I'm hoping for with mine. Left handed, Sonic blue, Barely play it because it sounds like shit. Had it around 10 years now.crumpler wrote:+ eleventy billion.Pens wrote:Yeah, I don't care if I'm lefty, I'd buy any Jagstang I came across at this point just because they constantly go through periods of selling for retarded high amounts.
