Shame, we had a Club 12 sitting there for ages in my shop on clearance.... it only went about a month ago.

Maybe try Ivor Mairants !! They got one in for me originally but seemed slightly miffed when I went away saying I would have think about it. You could do the same if you're desperate. Or they may still have the one they got in for me originally.

Aye, for a while I was using my Classic 30 while the other guitarist was using a 100w Valvestate, funnily enough, and they pretty much kept pace with each other.

Again, not sure if a 60w amp would be a wise move, but Jazz Choruses ARE balls-to-the-wall loud generally..

I know I've recommended this before to you but have you looked at a Roland Cube? Dunno how loud the bigger ones can get but the 60 (or was it 80?) I used to gig with in Troupe de Bacchus was loud as a fuck.

Totally agree with the HH suggestion. Used to play through one at the place we used to rehearse at and it was stupid loud. Very clean all the way too.

I will say, I didn't get on well with the onboard reverb or the EQ abilities. Usually bad tone stacks ruin amps for me, but in this case I mean; the amp sounded great but only did one sound which was punchy, loud and clean. You couldn't get much else out of it until you EQ'd or screwed with the input gain. Also the amp I played through had one of those old pre-MIDI DIN switches on the front, tres retro.

I play a Peavey Bandit 112

it's loud enough to gig with; I've toured and jammed with and never had an issue with volume. I don't know about across the pond, but they can be had for 150 or less all day, every day.

The really old Peavey Bandits (like the ones Pixies used to use) are extremely fucking loud. The Bandit 75 is made in USA, 75 watts of fucking loud, and as portugalwillie has pointed out, they're cheap, too.

Yeah, we discussed it last time I was looking for an amp. The Cubes look dead good, are portable and affordable but I decided to steer clear of a modelling amp due to the fact they tend to colour the fuck out of effects and generally compress stuff more than is useful in a live situation.

I think you need to get a luggage/builders trolly thing which you can strap something to using bungee cables, will really aid your carrying. Seen lots of indie rockers doing tyhis on the tube.

Or use the PA to give you more volume so you don't have to turn the amp up so loud.

Have you thought about a Fender Eighty Five? Dirt cheap, lightweight, some of the best clean tones I've ever heard and there's an effects loop, so you can put a Sansamp or similar in the front and just use the power amp. That's what I do.

Plus, y'know, him out of Radiohead uses one. Every time I plug into mine, I immediately sound like Radiohead. I don't even like Radiohead.

Try a lower gain preamp tube; 12AT7, 5771, etc.
And possibly bias it a little cooler?
