Introduction
Hello. I've been lurking here for years, but now that I'm actually posting I suppose a proper introduction is in order.
Also put this up on the shortscale pic sticky. Don't know why. Whore that I am.

Thanks. Believe it or not I like playing the Musicmaster a lot more. But you can't beat the Jag color scheme. It's an AVRI but has a bit of that vintage look... came to me as a slightly yellowed Oly White (too much case time?). Got it from Dave's last February. First time I ever bought a guitar online.
Would love to see your custom Jag when it's done!

What year is the Music Master bass?

The bass is a 1978. Plays like an absolute dream. I hear the Red Wine is something of a rare color, too.
I actually got it at Guitar Center Hollywood (bleh). They do have an awesome vintage section. Everything is overpriced tho, this bass included. Luckily I was able to trade in a full scale acoustic bass that I never wanted to see again.
After I posted I had a facepalm moment, noticing it was in your signaturesinglepickup24 wrote:Thank againAnkhanu wrote:Lovely collection

I don't play bass very much but I can't seem to part with it. It's just too awesome.
I actually saw a black one at guitar center San Francisco a while back. Only $600.

Haha, when I had a Jag and a Mustang, I always played the Mustang and the Jaguar saw a lot of guitar stand action, although I wanted to love that thing. I would love a Jaguar again, though I'd probably want the double humbucker version.singlepickup24 wrote:Thanks. Believe it or not I like playing the Musicmaster a lot more. I like your guitars! Musicmaster Basses have a lot of great tone potential, if they get the right pickup, wiring, and strings.
Kicking and squealing Gucci little piggy.
I love the wine red musicmaster bass! I almost bought a '78 mustang bass in that color a few years ago. It is a beautiful color. The mustang bass I was looking at wasn't in the greatest shape and the shop wanted more than I was willing to pay for it, and they wouldn't negotiate so I didn't get it.
I have an all black '78 musicmaster bass though and I love it! They're really fun basses!

OK, I'm going to try to be efficient and handle all of my responses in one post. Here goes.
@Everyone: Thanks for the gear compliments. You guys are awesome. Loving this forum so far.
@Pens: Yes! The MM should be everyone's ideal guitar. I'll have to look for pics of yours, assuming they're in the sticky.
@cixelsyd & Billy: Yeah, that bass is something special. Shame is I rarely play it. Like DGNR8 said, it's hard to keep around cause I'm always looking to cut down. If I ever get rid of it, it's going through this forum.
@honeyiscool: Yes, I think the Jag has to go. I've been trying to love it, but it's always on the stand. It's a very expensive guitar to not play. I'm considering trading it for this Rickenbacker 610: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/msg/2748475669.html ... Any thoughts?
@Everyone: Funny how you all love the finish on the MM. I love it too, but it's absolutely beat to hell. For me, it's part of the attraction. Close up to follow. Oh, and one more thought. The MM is an absolute player. Wish you all could take it for a spin. Then again, I wish I could check out all of your gear IRL as well. Fucking virtual reality.
