A trolley or at least a set of castors (plus dog lead) is a fine idea; Russ from CAUTIONHORSES picked up one from Maplins for his amp, although it broke rather fast. I'll steer clear of those jokers, then..
I guess it's possible that given the age of my amp, the less-than-expected volume could be down to some old components? It was struggling to be loud enough when used by trio Fashoda Crisis at the same gig.
Hmm yeah, didn't consider a Fender; there's a Princeton 112 Plus for on Gumtree that I may look into, fairly priced at £150. edit: that model is 65w. Hmmm.

take it back...the one on sael right now is the smaller 200 watt but only 6.5" speaker. Still a great idea for portable and loud/clean. Even more so if you are gonna turn and run it through a PA at all.. It iwll help with the boxy 6.5" sound, though these amps are suppossed to be pretty good on their own.

...and it's really clean. This 'Performer' model also includes a compressor, phaser, analogue delay and reverb! The delay is the best I've heard, really lofi but very musical. The distortion channel is okish at low gain settings.
I'm just going to chime in and say I've been using a ZT lunchbox for the past couple of months, if you're not bothered by how tiny it looks onstage it'd be plenty loud. They've changed a bit since the early generations, they're eq'd for more bass response and handle distortion pedals a bit better.
Just to give you an idea of how loud they are I played 1400 seat concert hall with a 40 piece orchestra last night and cut right through. Don't let the diminutive size put you off. It's also the perfect size to take on the tube around London, ive been around the capital a few times in the past weeks with my guitar and amp and have had no issues whatsoever.
this thing is very heavy, has a horrible 'distortion' mode, but should allow plenty of headroom. would make a good bass amp as well.

The ZT Club 12 on Ebay ends at 7pm today, currently going for £200 with 1 bid.. but given that they go for like £430+ new over here in the UK, I'd imagine it'll leap up in price towards the end.

You'd be suprised I bought my Lunchbox on eBay for a pretty good price. If you don't have an issue with sniping you could feel safe in how much you're prepared to pay, and if you lose no loss?
