I've considered building myself one after my success with the harmonic energizer, but the parts seem a little confusing. Plus if I had the cash I'd put an order in to Mike for one of his or maybe a custom dual with an echo base
Alas the Echo Base board is large. It don't share a bed with noone. Plus that would be 10 knobs.

How Soon is Now was done with a load of Fender Twins if memory serves, and they is definitely wobbly, not choppy.
I was after a siney wobbly trem and found the TR2 very choppy - not what I was after but perfect for the stop starty delay thing. I don't think there are money wobblies on the mass market. I found an Ibanez TL1 which are hard to come by, or there's the Guyatone VT3 which might show up used every now and again which sound lovely. So yeah, pretty much all trems on the market will get you the choppy sound.
It's tremish. You wouldn't buy one as a tremolo pedal, or if you did, you'd be a bit disappointed I think. I think of it more as a tremish, phasey, modulatey pedal rather than a straight tremolo. Maybe that would change if I had one for a while.
