Mine was delivered to my friend who's a tech. Here's a quick demo he did:

Here's what he had to say when I asked him what he would need to do with it:
"Frets are kind of.... meh, they feel soft and grainy, that's my only gripe. So, I'll buff those out to mirror shine, oil the board so it's consistent in color, set the pickups to the right height, adjust the action a bit, etc etc. The trem/tuners are surprisingly good and stable, go go Squier!"

I don't understand oiling rosewood for color consistency. Lively rosewood color is one of the things I usually find pretty awesome with guitars.

Dino, Sonic Youth, MBV... all Marshalls.

For the most part, that is. I've seen J. Mascis playing out of an old Fender before, too. If all you do is make music, then you don't just use one amp. Even Marshall master Kevin Shields recorded with an AC30.

All Fenders and Peavey Roadmasters, actually, but don't let the truth interfere with your point or owt.

Oh really? Sorry, my mistake. I thought I had seen SY with Marshalls in a video, but I must have just lumped them in with the other two groups.

I think I'm successfully over my lust for one of these.

Just like the Cobain Jaguar, it just seems every now and then something is going to come along and scream "buy me!" at me and the best thing to do is just pretend it doesn't exist long enough for me to realise it's a silly unnecessary expense.

Check me out, I'm an adult.

I'm pretty much like you now, it's a good feeling and its free.

Thankfully I get to mess with these guitars at work so unless the love stays strong, I easily move on.

I think this is on par with a Cobain Jag IMO.

Altho I like these a lot, also think I'm going to pass for the time being.

The way things are going, JMs will pass Strats in worldwide popularity by 2020.
