The Daphne Blue one looks sharp. Of those four, that is the one I might buy, as I have a Fiesta and Surf Green guitar already. And a few white ones. Shell Pink would win, though. And I think that the pearl guards look better than the tort.

I liked the neck. It feels like the 24.75" VM Tele Thinline necks (I have two of those). I wonder if it is a conversion neck? That is, could it change a 25.5" to a 24.75"? That's exactly what the VM Tele Thinlines do.

quick question... how easy would it be to intonate one of these if i swapped the neck with a strat mini? 22.75"

as it turns out lady serfy can only mannage to play chords on those mini necks (or that 90s MIM duo i have..) so i was thinking of picking her up a cyclone and then snaking a mini strat neck fomr somewhere (or buying one for the neck.. and probably .. um serfx the fuck out of the body..)

thoughts?

I know you can switch out 22.5" and 24" no problem. My gut tells me "no", but I have never heard of anyone trying a 24.75" to 22.75" conversion.

Why don't you just get a Daisy Rock? Frankly, all the Daisy Rocks I've played have been amazing (especially the Retro H) and would really work for someone with small hands thanks to their thin profile and narrow width. They have short scale DR guitars, but really, I refuse to believe that SCALE is the reason why someone can't play comfortably on a guitar because there's that thing called a capo. I think width and profile are far more important and at that, Daisy Rock is absolutely the winner.

Both are awesome. I really think these Daisy Rock guitars somehow feel smaller than even a Mustang, even though they're Gibson scale.

I would think it'd have serious neck dive, though. I know it's a 12 string and all but the Retro H body is already pretty tiny and light and dips more than I like on most guitars (the Deluxe is OK because it has a Bigsby).

The only way to know for sure is to first find out if the neck is a conversion neck. If it's a legitimate 24"75 scale, dropping 2 inches to 22.75 might work.

If you consider trying it, I could measure my daughter's Hello Kitty strat if it helps you. Maybe we could determine if it's a conversion neck or not.

I am not a huge Cyclone fan (outside the Cyclone II), but it could be a fun project down the road. I would rather mod a Squier J Mascis JM first though.

The only way to know for sure is to first find out if the neck is a conversion neck. If it's a legitimate 24"75 scale, dropping 2 inches to 22.75 might work.

I went back and played a daphne blue one through a Super-Sonic amp, and I was not impressed.

When I went to the sidewalk sale at the Schecter factory I played that exact guitar in red . It's REALLY nice . I thought it was a 24 scale when I played it . And they are not pricy . Certainly worth checking .

As I said above, one of the Long & McQuade stores here in Winnipeg, Canada has them in Daphne Blue, Fiesta Red, Surf Green, and Olympic White (yellowed). All for $199 CDN.
I asked my sales guy today about where he got them, and he said direct from Fender, and not through a Canadian distributor. So they were either shipped from the States, or they were shipped directly from Asia.
As I've said, they look really cool. Especially the surf green one. They have either pearl or tort guards.
In Japan, they have Shell Pink and Yellow, too.

that's weird. the squier site doesn't even show the cyclone, and the guitar center site only mentions the 4 basic colors.
