It's weird that Fender Japan has more lefties because growing up in Asia, people were always way more against left handers there. Most left handers are frowned upon and people try to teach them to use chopsticks righthanded, which ain't easy if you're lefty.

I think it's not much to do with Japan and more to do with the fact that Fender USA is a lazy entity that makes relatively boring guitars for willing buyers, whereas Fender Japan likes to make a lot of variety of interesting variations on the same theme.

Agreed. Sensible, practical, and keeps the aesthetic from the front nice and clean. It's even a cool aesthetic from the back.

A little like the Firebirds with "banjo-type" tuners...can't see em from the front.
