Dillion Jazzmaster

Post by death2yun »

Has anyone had the opportunity to play one of these?
I see them all over ebay, and I was wondering how they fared compared to the new MIM jazzy's fender's got out, and the squier ones as well.

They're based out of Cary, NC where I used to live. And you never see them around at shops up there at all. I always found that odd. I've heard good things about their guitars though.

They need to hire a professional website designer though. Their site looks like it was made on geocities in 1998.

I've played one of the Jazzy ones ( set up like a Blacktop Jazzy ) and one of the Rickenfakers and both seemed great . The Jazzy one played and sounded better than the Blacktop. The Rickish played nice as well. Korean made . Would I own one ? Maybe but I could live with myself if I never got one .

i havent played the jazzmaster but i owned a dillion 72 thinline with a humbucker in neck and single coil in the bridge. if i recall correctly i picked it up for about 350 at a local store in cleveland and it was a quality guitar. neck was warm and jazzy. bridge was hot but had just enough twang. it got a ton of play until it was stolen after a show.
ive read a ton of good reviews on dillion guitars (mostly about their lp knockoffs) and i personally wouldnt hesistate picking another one up if the price was right. i would imagine the jazzmasters are of similar quality.

yeah, had a p90 les paul goldtop knock off that was a great guitar for the money. Picked it up for 200 used at the time. Got sold in the great gear sell off of 2008, otherwise known as Mickie buys ahouse when every bank in the world goes bankrupt and get's tossed around between banks like a cheerleader at prom.
