Newbie - Fender Bronco 1968 tuners & tremolo arm

Post by elefevre »

Hi all,
Can anyone recommend some replacement tuners for a 68' Fender Bronco? I've read that the 70's style "F" tuners don't fit without modifications - which I'd like to avoid. Is there a replacement available that doesn't require any mods? I'm also looking for a tremolo arm replacement. Suggestions on either one?

Thanks

Erin

Aren't those just standard Kluson's? I'd recommend just getting some regular, but ACTUAL Kluson tuners. There's a lot of knock offs, but after being forced to buy the real ones for my Musicmaster build as they don't make the cheap ones in left handed, I'm sold on the real ones as being the absolute best ones out there.

Post pics of the existing tuners so we can help you.

reissue ones won't fit without you having to drill the neck slightly, but original 70s ones will fit fine. replica klusons will work but you'll have additional screw holes in the back of the headstock... depends if that bothers you or not.

Did they put 70's tuners on them back in 1968?

durrr... i meant to say 'vintage'. old F tuners are interchangeable. they stopped using klusons in late '65 i think.

No shit? I thought F tuners didn't show up until the 70's. I assumed they had Klusons up until then. Disregard my advice then. I advocate putting the same kind of tuners as it has on there.
