So, we the fellows of Bright Nights have finally released our self-titled debut EP! It was an unnecessarily long process, but I am extremely happy with the results. As was the case with Remi Greene, we recorded it and mixed it ourselves in an old farmhouse that one of the members calls home and had a great time doing it. We also had the talented and genuine fellow Carl Saff at Saff Mastering handle the mastering again.
If you're one of the two people that heard the Remi Greene album linked in my sig, this stuff is quite a departure; I guess I'd class the Bright Nights material as heavy synth pop rock. Also included is the final version of our cover of XTC's "Making Plans for Nigel" that I kicked around a bit here before it was finished. I even handled it all proper-like and cleared the song for use on the album and online, as a big boy would.
We printed a couple hundred CDs and had an album release show on Dec 3 at my favorite local venue (Crofoot) with some wonderful bands, and it couldn't have gone better. When I went the following weekend to check out some friends' bands, one of the people working the door that had purchased a shirt of ours at the show was wearing it that night. I'm mostly a cynical, jaded, bitter asshole, but that made me smile.
Check it out!

I'm still trying to class up the online presence a bit, so excuse the spartan bandcamp page. Hopefully during Christmas vacation I'll be able to light up the proper website.
