I am in the process of trading for a Compstang RI with a lace sensor in the bridge myself.

I honestly like the idea of a humbucker-routed Mustang. The thing is, I don't really like weak bridge pickups, but I like the sound of them when combined with a single coil neck. I could install a Lace Dually in the bridge and then convert a switch into a coil selector then I can have all the sounds I need.

Too bad Ishibashi wont ship new fenders to the US. You need an agent in Japan to buy it and ship it to you. Like my Old Pal Tomokaz Kawamura.

Give it a little while. Ishibashi will be selling like new used models before you know it. That's how I got my Beck Comp Mustang.

What about a regular person shipping from Japan to US?
Are there customs/duty or something to be paid?

The reason I ask - I have two friends that are living over in Kumagaya-shi, Saitama.

Yeah, he and his wife moved there this summer to teach 'merican to Japanese.

Do you know what the customs situation is?
Can he just ship it as a 'gift'?

I purchased a CIJ Jaguar from a guy in Japan last year on ebay, I was dreading the customs but was surprised I got none. The guy shipped it by EMS which was then handled by USPS.

Jeeeeeeeez need the comp

wanna go back to ochanomizu, right naoooo ! ohfuck....sorely miss. gimme the lefty compstang.

it's so funny there, certain shops you enter from one's backdoor into the neighboring store, then end up exiting somewhere and there's the next batch of shops to enter. it's very much more concentrated in ochanomizu than bigger district shops.
some have more personality though. and sell more obscure stuff and second hand things. i miss the consumerist abundancy of tokyo... xD

what I don't like about these is that they have an evil looking humbucker on them.
