Best vintage guitar, which doesn't cost the same as a car?

Just a quick heads-up to the OP (+ Freddy / any other UKers interested in musicmasters), that there's one on ebay right now with a B.I.N. price of £425)

Not affilliated with this in any way, but as the owner of one I can confirm that 78 musicmasters fucking rule!

This one is on sale for $399 at my local store. It's a made at the Dartford factory VOX ACE.Nick wrote:I was playing my '65 Vox Tempest at practice last night and felt compelled to mention it in this thread as a suggestion. I paid $700 (well, more like my Gibson LP Studio) for it and it's a nice solid guitar, the pickups are louder and brighter than my Rickenbacker Hi Gains (though they are somewhat microphonic)
Some of the 6 string versions can sell for around $500-600, they're not the prettiest things in the world but they're a solid vintage guitar as opposed to cheapos of that era and something pretty unique.
Here's mine

They can still definitely be snagged for a sensible price if you look around. That said, there are always places that'll play the "vintage" card to try & justify charging silly money. There's one in GAK in Brighton right now that they want £899 for!!AddamInsane wrote:The prices of these seem to be rocketing too!

Agree that these are one of the last lot of affordable pre-80s fenders out there. The necks alone make these a viable proposition for those of us who like the 24" scale (guessing that's most of us!), the simplicity & great sound are the icing on the cake. I can barely put mine down....my other guitars hardly get a look in these days!
No updat so I guess you haven't found anything yet?
