Blacktop Jaguar 90

Post by Lucamo »

Seems a lot better to me than that ugly Modern Player Jaguar.

Do want.

Nice. Whack a bigsby on there and it'd look like one of those over priced custom jobs

Would it have killed them to put Jazzy pickups in there instead of p-90's.

Wow, I really like the look of that. Usually there's at least one thing that bugs me about all of the blacktop/modern player guitars, but I can't think of a thing I'd change.
As fender describes it, it's both "alluring" and "sultry."

That's actually not too bad at all.
Still miss the Rhythm circuit... or maybe just the plate in another role.

I don't think it would have jived with the Blacktop concept, which seems to be about high output pickups. I'm actually a little surprised that they left a Jazzmaster pickup in the Bt Jazzmaster.

toronado's were 24.75", and had vol/ton for each pickup, so it's not technically the same.

Agreed.

Those jobs look way too cluttered IMO.

I've never really heard a bad P90, even on the cheapest of imports.

This is true. My P-Stang has a single no name p-90 in the bridge plundered from some random import and it's a great ballsy pickup.

You know, you look at this list:

http://www.fender.com/en-GB/products/se ... guar%C2%AE

Even despite all the individual quibbles I may have with each one of these guitars, I have to say, this list looks a lot better than four years ago when our short scale choices were pretty shit.

Looks perfect for me.

Fender guitar Check
2 p 90's Check
Hard Tail Check

All is missing is a slightly better color option but the black on red does not look bad at all.

mmm. Got a GC gift card and a 15% off qoupon sitting in my drawer. Just need the other couple hunderd $.

This does look nice. I'd rock this over any of the other blacktops, or even the regular jag HH.

New plan. Get a Blacktop Jazzmaster first. That hasn't changed. But then get one of these P90 Jaguars and Cut the 'guard for a bridge humbucker and I'm SET.

Yeah, I finally got to play one of the Jazzmasters last month, and again last week... I love it! It would definitely be ahead on my list too.
Can't say I'd swap the bridge on the Jag90 to a humbucker, though. A bridge p-90 is a great thing.
