Kent Hollowbody project

Post by light rail coyote »

So I went to the Local guitar shop to buy some tubes to replace ones I had to steal from my brother's amp to sell my old bassman. Walking into a guitar shop with hundreds of dollars in your pocket is a bad/good idea. THere was this beautfull horrible Kent bolt on neck hollowbody thing that sounded awful and the strings were a mile above the fret board and I just had to have it. I got it for $100 and made it into something pretty cool!

started life as this

the pickups were a joke, they worked, but with my big ass sunn amp on 10 they were bedroom practice levels. this is why

so I did this

and then this

and then this

a little filing of frets and shimming of the neck and its actually pretty playable, but it shines as an open tuning slide guitar!

that looks like an awesome find. even more so for a slide guitar.

Oh shit, nice work dude. Bet it sounds huge in an open tuning with those pickups.

I love this thing. Looks great, both pre- and post-mods.

That is so incredibly cool. I've been watching eBay like a hawk for the past few weeks looking for a similar guitar.
