Squier Supersonic Decal... anyone?

Painting? Routing? Set-up tips? Or just straight-up making a guitar from scratch? Post here, and post pics!

Squier Supersonic Decal... anyone?

Post by mkt3000 »

So...

does anyone have a source, an extra decal, or can make me one? At minimum the Squier logo alone. I bought a beat up one last november, and the previous owner replaced the Squier with Fender. It looks douchey, and I want it gone. Banished. (on the plus side, he put a Duncan JB + coil split in the bridge, which will remain)

I'm getting the guitar back hopefully this week after getting a professional setup, a wood block behind the trem, and dozens of stickers removed and paint removed from the hardware.

Hit up a guy on ebay called Brauskoh. He will do you one for $15/2 for $20 and they are AMAZING.

And he replied...

My next question... hoping to get opinions.

The guitar is silver sparkle.

Do I want to A- restore it to factory condition, or after seeing this thread: http://shortscale.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=44582

B- spray the headstock black, and put a white decal instead. Then top it off with a black pickguard.

Silver ones look great stock. I have two. One remained silver, the other is my coral esquired one. My silver one actually yellowed to gold sparkle.

And yes, I too am not feeling the black headstock. But it's your guitar. Have at it.
A Whole Bunch of Guitars. Some with sparkles. Some with Pearl. Some with racing stripes.

I decided to keep it OG. I'll do a black vinyl decal if I wanna go black, that way I can just peel it off when I get bored of the look.

So... does anyone have fender font information? Not for the Squier logo - I have a vector version of that, but what they used for the models, ie- Stratocaster, Mustang, etc. I'm gonna try my luck at making a black vinyl sticker to cover the headstock with.

Ended up going with Brauskoh on ebay for the decal, and here's the new headstock. The decal isn't 100% accurate, but that's cause I asked for no movement lines like a Mustang. I do suggest getting a second as a backup, because the second one did not go on correctly.
