has anyone ever done an antigua finish or know of a guide for doing homemade burst finishes?

I'm afraid it's such an ugly finish finding a solution to doing it diy it has never come up. There are plenty of guides to get rid of it though I imagine.

well, antigua pickguards are shitty, but my friend uses a silverburst LP and I want a dorky 70s finish to match it

check out reranch. they have a ton of forum threads and DIY guides to sunburst.


that finish is essentially just a two tone burst, so you should be able to find plenty of info there.

1. eat a bunch of butter
2. cram a bunch of petroleum jelly in yr anus
3. have the runs into a coffee can
4. mix with some kind of lacquer/polyurethane binding agent.
5. spray onto a guitar body that you want to ruin.
6. let it dry.
7. fist your face.
8. ???????
9. DIE

do a wildwood, thats cooler. its more late 60's, but kinda 70's.

White body with gray burst. Then spray tinted clear over top and turn it all Antigua. I don't know where you can find gray nitro.
