Kurtz didn't have a monopoly on bridge humbuckers. They just sound better that way.

Its the same guitar, I printed the pickguards on a 3d printer.
The black single coiled pickup cover was printed as well.
I routed the body myself

I dislike humbuckers on guitars with single coils because I find that it meh-ifies with the middle position, which is my favorite on SS guitars like Jag or Mustang. Regardless, I don't think single sized hums sound much like full sized hums at all, which I tend to prefer.

I do like a hotter bridge single coil, though, and I love series wiring. I tried out my new Mustang in rehearsal yesterday and I left it on series 80% of the time.

If there's also a neck hum, then bridge hums work for me. I like both full sized and mini hums, but lately I prefer mini hums.

well it took nearly 20 years, Fender has finally issued TeH kUrDtZ

Most people will probably go meh, they are just humbucker mustangs, no big deal. sure, in 2012 they might be.

But they are really the product of Kurt & Earnie and are the spirit of 1993 & the In Utero tour. They are my favorite guitars. hell it would have been near impossible to daydream that fender would do a humbucker equipped mustang for worldwide distribution. Never mind in kurts colors (Fiesta Red!!! & never done before) and with a TOM no less (fuck!!!) and a JB (double fuck!!!)

We basically had to beg back in 2004 for Fender to do these Kurtified mustangs from the factory (see first pic in thread) now they are doing them for 800 bucks. a gift for all nirvanabees.

the fact that they are reissuing it as the "Kurt Cobain" mustang is just phenominal. again on a world wide basis, not some obscure japanese market short run. a full blown "KuRdTz" offering by FMIC. Its a great day for shortscale!!! basically the reason this site exists.

Props for the KC Jaguar too, you have to give Fender credit for doing this stuff. Its really a WOW fuck me moment, not to be understated.
