but it's spendy.

between the 2 you're looking at, i'd go for the delay, but really, that's just cause i prefer delay.

Because they're dreadful. Get the delay, it'll be fun and do lots. No one's ever regretted getting a delay pedal.

Shit that's rather neat actually. Like 2ci in the form of a pedal.

Although, the acoustic simulator may make such a uniquely horrible racket you start to love it.

Acoustic Simulator does get a lot of flack.... I kinda think it's ok, but it's kinda outdated really... and was never really that cool.

Rightly so.... you should definitely invest in a delay and the Carbon Copy is a great choice.

This might help.

I always thought that the acoustic simulator would be a cool buy, but a delay pedal will go farther

Acoustic simulators are awful, sound like a cheap piezo pickup at their very best. Seriously don't bother.

The Carbon Copy on the other hand is great.

just watch a few utube vids and you'll see that the carbon copy will offer so much more, especially if your in an indie band.

The delay will give you an echo and therefore an illusionary space to your sound, plus the CC has the subtle modulation to detune very slightly which sweetens it. I wouldn't say it was strange though. Never used an acoustic simulator but I can imagine it sounding pretty awful....strange, yes, but probably also hard and brittle. I find interesting 'strangeness' comes about much more through the music itself and the way it's played rather than a particular effect. I would recommend the CC though, I've got one and though it doesn't sound quite as mushy as I'd like my analogue delay to, it is a good pedal- does the old self oscillation sound nicely though I've heard better from the Memory Man in that department.
