Just joined

Post by duosonic »

I just joined today. I found this site through a link from the unofficial Warmoth site. Very cool!

I play all short scale guitars 22.5 and 22.75. I have two modified mexican duosonics, two gibson short scale melody makers 1959 (LP body) and 1961 (SG body) and a Baby Taylor. I also have a chop shop 22.75" telecaster that I made our of various fender parts.

Glad to be here!

Nice, love the cream Duo. These mini Strat necks keep popping up lately, how does that intonate on the Tele, did you adjust the bridge?

I bought the SG naked on eBay. I still need to get it finished. Only the headstock is finished.

On the tele, It's a standard 25.5" body. I took the mini neck and changed the neck joint to a tele flat neck joint. That shaved off about a 1/4 of an inch. I only had to slightly move the bridge saddles forward to make it all work. The pickups aren't in the optimum harmonic location but it still has that tele twang.

I liek the naked SG. I would be inclinded to say if it's a 1961 Gibson and it doesn't have a finish, do not put one on.

LSR tuners always instantly remind me of the Jackson Roswell Rhoads guitars they had hanging in shops/ads for in every mag when I first started playing.
