Are you making it HSS then? Should be interesting.

I'd be slightly concerned the Bigsby might not fit, just make sure you measure first. For such a small body and with the Ric-style tailpiece cutaway it might be a bit cramped.

Well, the reverse lefty strat project is a go!

Just bought this- http://www.ebay.com/itm/270894605810?ss ... 500wt_1192 and it's on its way to my aunt's house in Florida so she can forward it to me (cause seller won't ship to PR)

Once it arrives, I'll order a lefty trem, whichever strat neck I can get my hands on, be it lefty or righty, and then off to the auto parts store to look at paint colors and sandpaper (or maybe I'll leave the black on there and relic it).

I had the Tokai 'Rockinbetter' version of that RIC copy, almost identical. It was okay, quite nice for chord work but the middle pickup could not be lowered which was an irritation.

Tracking says that the lefty strat body is in Puerto Rico and it should be in my hands by tomorrow. I've ordered a lefty HSS pickuard for it.

I'm going mount the pickguard and leave it with my good friend and artist Vanesa San Emeterio, and I told her to paint whatever she wants on it - only to remember that I plan on playing this guitar. I like her art, and she knows me well enough to do something I like. Once I get it back, I'll clear the body and pickguard, and start working on getting a bridge and neck.

I'd prefer a lefty CBS neck, so I can drop the mirror image Hendrix decal on it, but if I can't find one for a halfway decent price, I'm not really gonna be too bothered as to which neck ends up on it.

Here's some of Vanesa's work, so there's an idea of the visual style the guitar will have

And the body arrived. It's in better shape than advertised, so now I'm thinking of not painting it, but leaving it as is, and instead just have my friend paint the pickguard. One thing I found interesting was that the body was advertised as Squier, but the sparkle in the finish and trem posts disagree. Did I get an American or Japanese body for $15?!?!

It's probably a Squier Standard body in Black Metallic finish. They've had 2-point trems since 2000, while the cheaper Affinities kept the vintage 6-screw ones.

Yeah my nephew has a black metallic Squier standard fat-strat that looks just like that.

Slowly but surely, there's progress.

And I'm kinda digging the red on black. Might have to back out of painting the pickguard. The pickup came out of my 78 Musicmaster.

Does the pickgaurd fit properly? Looks like it is covering the trem holes.
