NYPD!!! NPD How old is this RAT pedal?

I scored a RAT pedal on eBay(will get it in the next days) and was wondering how old it is...

The serial number is VR 110960

Any help?

sounds like a big box reissue by the serial number. Look at the potentiometers when you get it, they should have a 4 digit number on them, it will be something like 9124 or 9237, the first 2 digits represent the year and the 2nd part equals the week code. You should also be able to see the chip if you take the battery door of, it should be visible. It's definately made in the US though, they didn't make the big box reissues overseas.

Just received the pedal and the number on the pots is ER 3977 0226. What does this mean? 2002?

Just got my Proco Rat pedal i scored last week on eBay...

Yes, it is probably 2002 or early 2003, they were still made in the US in 2002.
