That's actually precisely how I was using it. I had an SD-1 in front it that I'd keep on constantly for some subtle dirt (my amp is a '73 Vibrosonic, which is a Twin with a 15" so it's nothing but clean), then use the ShredMaster for the big parts.

Crap, I'm giving this a shot for sure next week. I do miss that sound, but when I changed everything up for a new band I started fresh.

for a light dusting of dirt: my danelectro coolcat overdrive...

for proper dirty dirt:
singlecoils = boss hm-2
humbuckers = black sovtek big muff

I have my Ruetz Rat with the gain at about 11 O'clock and the filter anywhere from all the way down or set straight at noon.

Then boost that with my Turbo Overdrive in mode one. Sucks out quite a bit of low end but I've come to really like that.
