If I bought one of these guitars, I would probably get the red or LBP model.

Then I would make the following changes:

Refinish the neck with tinted Nitro
Build a custom pickguard.
Mount 3 Jaguar pickups and Jaguar switches

Not sure I could add Comp stripes after it's already been finished. :D

You have good taste. I don't think I'm going to refinish the neck (although I might give it a kiss of tru-oil), but I'm definitely swapping out the pickups (plus splitting the bucker with a 500k push-pull pot), and adding comp stripes.

I finally decided on the pickups I'm dropping in there, and they're definitely gonna change the look (And sound) of it. Gonna put a GFS Brighton Rock in the neck and a GFS bigmouth on the bridge.

I put Tru Oil on my Musicmaster neck and it looked pretty good. I need to do it again to be honest.

looks great...but hate to piss on ur parade but that GFS bigmouth will not fit without pick guard mods.... its cut for a normal hb without a cover...basically the hole is not cut square

Yeah... I was just trying something out. I already took it off. That's the great thing about vinyl stickers - if I don't like it, it doesn't leave any marks.

nah, the good thing about vinyl stickers is that when they're properly placed on your desired surface, they look splendid.

So... I guess I gotta square off the corners of the pickguard HB route? Or more than that?

Yep. This one was for another project I had in mind, but didn't happen. I'm gonna cut out another set of vinyl stripes during the week and place them correctly. I'm deciding if going matching with white, or seeing what other colors are available at the printing shop.

nah mate, you're missing my point.

the one you put on was too long, and it was at the wrong angle.

it should be quite parallel to the contour, ya copy?

You're right. I gotta find the pic I was looking at, since either it, or the angle it was taken at made it look like it went right to the strap button. Either way, I'm cutting more vinyl, since I want black stripes for my Supersonic.

nah, that part is fine. that is still among the amount of play you'll find in vintage examples. the other end is the problem, it goes all the way up to the middle of the tummy cut.

colors I think would look good are white or flat black for like a stealth stripe.

Are the vinyl comp stripes any good? Is it like a sticker?

They're not bad. I don't buy the ones online though - I print/cut mine at a sign shop whose owners I'm friends with.
