I love this thing, though I can't figure out if there is some clear/lucite kind of cover over the wood part.

it's a clearcoat over the stained/airbrushed wood for that vintage station wagon look.

nah I think it's real wood. it is just airbrushed and stained to look as if it is multi-piece construction. see how the grain is the same across all the "pieces".

Pretty good job. I thought it was acrylic over wood for a minute. Like the execution, but not the shapes.
