Where these made around the same time as my Lead 12?

Damn, they're meant to be pretty rare from what I've heard... been eyeing them up with interest over the course !! Only 500 made supposedly. How much ??

From what I gather they're from a similar era to the Lead 12 cept tube > transistor.

Don't know the finer points.

I always refer to this for that http://www.drtube.com/marshall.htm

Too lazy to look right now.

EDIT: no I'm not....

Lead 12 = from 1982-91
Studio 15 = from 1985-92

How much did you pay for it? The speaker is worth 50 quid on it's own.

Thanks guys! I traded some stuff for it.Could I run my guitar through the Lead 12 like it was a distortion pedal with a cable from HP/Line-out into the Studio 15?

Sure, but isn't the Studio 15 all-tube? Doesn't the preamp sound better on that?

Yes,but I want to use the Lead 12 as a distortion pedal,like a Rat or a Tubescreamer.

Seems like it won't be adding any functionality seeing as you'd still just have to turn dials to go from clean to distorted on the Lead 12, much like you would on the Studio 15.

But whatever floats yo' boat, man!

Chico has one of these I am pretty sure. Search back and find Dots writeup of it against my old TIny Terror and Dots Jr.

I do have a studio 15. Very very nice amp. They sound great but are a little on the thin side. Run it through a 2x12 cab and they sound incredible. Also incredibly loud for a 15 watt amp.

Thanks! It's a pretty cool amp. I like how you can turn up the Mid to add more gain.

It's not a Hybrid, it's a 15 watt tube amp: 12AX7x2 and 6V6x2
