tempted.
i can afford it. but should i ? hmmmmm...... figuring these won't sell 'that' quick as it's lefty. and lefties to want a jag would go for single coils jag
but dang..offset..shortscale..and i'd love a guitar with hums again.. this just seems too right.. not because it's a kurdtz sig..just the specs...and the price..is not bad.

I'd like to put white button Schaller F tuners on the Mustang, but it would require drilling out the headstock a bit - something I'd rather let a good tech do. Unfortunately, they're not a direct drop-in replacement for the mid 60s to mid-70s era Fender F tuners.... which are quite possibly the worst tuners known to man. You can't take them apart to lube them, and they stick and catch and generally feel unresponsive and un-smooth. I hate them.

I don't like the 90s ones that much, I've said that many times before. But anything that was wrong with them, they've fixed by now. The problem was never basswood. It was hardware and overall lack of attention to detail IMO. Blindfolded, nobody would know the difference between a poplar and a basswood MG69 now.benecol wrote:Gotohs > Pings for me; I think Mike is bang out of line for taking it upon himself to describe Pings as the nation's favourite tuner. But it's a welcome detour away from honeyiscool's OCD trolling of anyone who dare question Japanese Mustangs.
Pings work fine for me. All split tuners have worked fine for me. Tuners generally hold tune. Certainly any stock tuner on a Fender can hold tuning. It's the rest of the guitar that's usually at fault when things go out of tune.

Your quote's got mangled: I hate basswood. I may have mentioned this before...dkoor wrote:Tell that to the guitar-feature-experts interweb lynch squad.honeyiscool wrote:benecol wrote:Blindfolded, nobody would know the difference between a poplar and a basswood MG69 now.
Shit some of the higher gurus can probably tell you about sonic difference between Fiesta Red and Lake Placid Blue.
