Mid Price Range - What Is out there for the Leftie?
OK, looking to get a new Left Handed guitar, £500 - £700 spend, not a Mex Fender Telly or Strat or Epiphone (already have these covered). What else is there???? I am strugling to find anything much of interest. It seems if I have up £350 or £1000 + there is a decent selection but in the mid price range..........christ, the only thing I can find (in the UK) is one model of Ibanez (in Black only) and the Brian May thing (in Cherry Red Only).

How about the Gibson 60's tribute series? £799... never tried any personally but I think the SG's look pretty nifty.

Yeah, they look OK on paper, but to be honest I have an Epiphone SG 400 with electronics sorted out and a Bigsby installed. The Gibson 60s series just strike me as not adding much to the equasion for the money.......other than it says Gibson on the headstock. The 60s Honey Burst Les Paul looked nice but I would want to check it out in the flesh first........I guess they are going to be thin on the ground as it was a limited run up to the end of last year.Simon wrote:How about the Gibson 60's tribute series? £799... never tried any personally but I think the SG's look pretty nifty.

I played a lefty one of these a couple of days ago and was really impressed.Rayjaysonic wrote:Good shout, Worth checking out I reckon when they hit the shops.......so that has my list up to 3 guitars to choose from. Woopie F****** Do!Simon wrote:KC Mustang?
Have also played the Gibson tributes and they are pretty decent but the Mustang felt much better to me. There was still something that felt "unfinished" about the tributes.
To be fair the Squier Custom Vibe Tele I got a couple of months ago feels better than most lefties in that price range. One of them and a pickup upgrade has been enlightening.

Thom wrote:Great advice from a fellow South paw that I am sure knows my problem first hand. Yeah, I have seen a few of the right handed Gibson tributes in stores and they all looked a bit unfinished. OK they say they have a 'worn' look to them but they looked very flat to me in terms of the paint job.Rayjaysonic wrote:I played a lefty one of these a couple of days ago and was really impressed.Simon wrote:KC Mustang?
