Wow, a custom shop student model. Never thought I'd see the day!
I think the finish is surprisingly attractive, almost has a "marbled" look to it. Lipstick pups and the Toronado bridge are a nice touch, very unexpected.
I saw a very small glimpse of this in a picture in an email from fender. I could tell that there was a duo-sonic-esque guitar in the picture, and I clicked the link to their photo gallery but there weren;t any other pictures of it. I was disappointed. thanks for posting this!
The color definitely has some sparkle in it, but some darker specks too, which you don't normally see in 50s era Desert Sand. The pickguard was pretty cool - I liked the root beer color. But I have to agree with Rob - there's nothing "Bronco" about that guitar - it's a Duo Sonic with late 70s era Musicmaster cosmetics in terms of the pickguard shape, etc.

Interesting - are there any pics of that one floating around out there? I must have missed it somehow when I was at the Fender booth last year - either that, or they didn't have it on display at NAMM.

string thru , lipsticks , dayuuuuum jizzed on pants.
the pickguard is the bronco bit. duo-sonics never had pickguards like that. music master also had a guard like that but it basically originated with the bronco.
nice to have a large head not like the squier cv.
why they don't do a early musicmaster or late duo pickguard? And 3 saddles bridge to have nice stang?
when squier made a duo like this below. The 90's reissue have a too short scale.
and with a green finish like sea foram green, sherwood green, ....
