Old EHX pedals power question.

Post by rps-10 »

Am I correct in thinking the old NYC EHX pedals are Centre Positive?

Yeah, the little headphone jack connector adapters. I think old MXRs need them, too. Look on the Johnnyshredfreak website, he has them.

Lots of old pedals do, I have an old Ibanez pedal that is a 3.5mm headphone jack style.

Thanks for the conformation of the centre positive though guys

No idea, maybe, they seemed to be fairly common in them good old days of unstandardised equipment.

Just thought, save arseing about with "adapters" couldn't I just drill a big hole in it and wire in one of these in the usual centre neg orientation?

the adapters only cost a few pounds and slot on to a daisy chain of the usual centre neg adapters. i use one for my rat like that. less hassle

These are the same jacks on the old boxed Small Clone Chorus like mine. The Voodoo Labs Pedal power 2 even included power jumpers for them. The newer Neo Clone was converted over to the standard 9v plugs

I remember when I borrowed a NYC Big Muff and I used my SCC power adapter to power it.
