I like his "blues-rock frog" face when he's demoing the 3rd channel at 4:40.

Haha, indeed. I really like Vai as a person...in fact him, satriani and others all come across as swell folks. I think the only thing that amuses me about the faces is that the tones are SO saturated and one-level that for all the facial nuance, the tone provides very little. Compare and contrast with the MASTER of guitar frog face:

His clean tone is pretty compressed. I think his playing style is very unique, and definitely not shred. A lot of his licks and phrases can be used to spice up a solo in any genre.
