I dunno, the Excelsior seems much more than just a quirky front.

It's a 13 watt valve amp with a 15" speaker and tremolo for under £250. From Fender.

The fifties look is obviously going to divide people (I fucking love it) but it really surprised me how cheap it is. For a small gig amp it's fantastic. As a companion to a big gigging amp for a single-guitar outfit it's even better. I really like it and can definitely see the advantage. It also looks a little more portable than my Classic 30, too.

I'm with Nick, I don't understand why people love fewer options on things like this.

"One of your guitars way too trebley with this one-dial amp? Tough tits!"

Just seems like madness to me.

I've nothing bad to say about a cheap 2x6V6 amp with tremolo and a fat speaker. Exept maybe that the last time I played a 15' Cab it didn't really sound right to me. But then I didn't have the balls to tell the owner guy that his '62 Showman stack sounded bad
