The stand in the video seems to be a modified version of something like these guys:

On-Stage Stands RS7000 Tiltback AMP STAND

Musician's Gear Deluxe Amp Stand

I have what I believe is the first model linked above just collecting dust in storage in the basement. I purchased it for use with my Blues Junior many years ago, but I used it about twice and didn't care to lug it around with the fifteen other pieces of crap I am forced to deal with in my gigging setup.

Dave, I'd be happy to send it for the cost of shipping. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Colour me interested AVJ! Looking at the pic it's wide enough to carry a 2x12 Marshall DSL - the ones I've looked have been smaller for sure. Reckon yours is similarly dimensioned?

I am very certain it's the first model I linked above, which is spec'd as follows:

---
Height adj.: 17" to 24" (43.2 to 61 cm)
Weight capacity: 152 lbs.
Upper and lower arm length: 12" (30.5 cm)
Width: 12" (30.5 cm)
Base Spread: 15-1/2" (39.4 cm)
---

It seems 12" (30.5 cm) is much smaller than what it appears in person (har har), but even so, that should adequately hold an amp/cabinet about 30" (76.2 cm) wide. I'll take some measurements as soon as I can and report back.

My only concern with the modification made in the aforelinked video is that the chap has either poured lead in the recesses of his amp head or the cabinet is made of polystyrene and paper. Personally, I'd rather not construct a functional catapult on which to place my amp head, but it appears some are not much bothered with Science. The guy has provided zero detail about the modification of the stand and has curiously disabled comments, wherein this question would've likely been addressed immediately. It looks like the front angle brackets are affixed to the stand with many rounds of some kind of tape, which also does not strike me as an ideal long-term solution.

I think you'd be better off simply leaning the cabinet back against the front of the stand if the cabinet is too heavy—but it's likely one of those things that would best be proved out by testing, as it's entirely possible that I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about.

Excellent post AVJ you raise a valid concern re: amp catapulting. I’ve been running this though my real-time physics modelling computer (mah brainzzzz) and it could go either way. I think if the amp is laid back at an angle that is past its tipping point then the weight will be distributed more on the stand itself BUT it also depends on how far it sticks out, the effect of the amp head on top etc etc. Even if it stays there fine it might only take a bit of weight on the cab (say, a ladies bum, a playful cat, or a pint of beer) and that could invoke the aforementioned catapult-event. This would therefore = amps, cat, beer and arse all over my bedroom. Actually that pretty much describes my bedroom anyway. Apart from the arse. Why is there not arse all over my bedroom? Bet Stephen Hawking doesn’t know the answer to THAT!

Anyway like you say I will experiment for sure. IF it makes good sense to stick some angle brackets on there I’ll get a mate to weld them on. He loves getting his welder out.

No worries about measurements (unless it’s obviously much tinier than you thought). Not sure how much it’ll cost to post it over but its worth me checking how much the same model would be here – never know might be cheaper than the postage! If it’s super easy for you get shipping quote let me know.

Just as a public service, I wanted to point out that Dave and I shared some PMs and the cheapest shipping quote I could manage to find was about 260 USD because of the size and weight -- horribly offensive on every level. That's roughly six times the worth of the stand, so the take-away from this is: don't try and ship anything large overseas, unless you hate money. And if that's the case, send Dave your money and have a nap.

Given the quotes I had to ship my mustang to the states and how much I paid to ship my JM from the states I'm not surprised at that cost
