yeah, the one on the back is like a tele deluxe or toronado contour. real defined. strats, and stangs have nice smooth, buttery style ones. don't get me wrong, it looks good, just atypical for an offset fender.

It looks first class. I hope my mustang ends up looking a half as good as that one. the Jag trem looks hot.

bonertown??? what the hell kind of term is that? no one wants to go there
edit: lol, my gf wrote that. then we came up with the term 'clitopolis'

bahaha, very true.
I think that was actually like an edited down version of the original post that was probably a far more ridiculous analogy but somehow made it all make more sense. I can't remember exactly but it may or may not have involved a "one way trip to" the aforementioned town.

looks great, naturally. however, i'm still not jiving with those contours. most important thing is that it's not mine.
love the colors and the jag trem.

i would've gone with the red, but it still looks righteous either way.

This is sweet. I was going to order one of those bodies from Andrew too, but just don't have the time/money for it right now.
I would love a CAR Compstang with JM/Jag trem and eithier JM pickups, G&L MFDs or P90s.
for a fellow PA'er too.

Looking great!
I'm doing a very similar project right now. Mustangs with the jag/jazz trem just look so awesome.

I will probably get a video up in the next day or two..
First impressions:
-Love the neck. Feels a tad bit chunkier than my Jazzmaster's. Not a problem switching between the two scale lengths.
-Sounds like all the other Jaguars I've played. Maybe slightly less bright, but then again I am using a 250k pot for the volume knob. (But no tone knob, so I don't think there's as much treble loss.)
-Maybe I've just been spoiled with my Jazzmaster, but the Japanese trem sucks. Not anywhere near as smooth, and I already broke an E string at the winding. Never broke a string since I had the AVRI, and yet I'm already having issues with the Japanese one. The bridge/saddles are American though, so no problems there. Might have to pony up and get an AVRI unit since I do love to use the trem.
-Overall the Jazzmaster is just a way better guitar, but this thing will function as my beater offset to take to gigs and not have to baby much. I like the simple setup and the DIYness of it.
-Altogether, only spent a little over $400 to get the parts, labor, etc.

I am very impressed with the final result. How thick is the body and how deep is the jag tremolo into the body?
Very nice. Hope to finish my project guitar very soon.

the body is full-depth, so the trem sits just as deeply as it would on a Jaguar.
