ok not exactly sunny but here's some!

Image

i'm usually against the whole artificially aging stuff... but with that neck...

Image

based on my other older guits, these parts deserve a bit more of the beating...

these pics show the flaking/crackling effect you get with the "cold" aircan trick:

in all these pics the body looks SO blue, when in reality, it does have some subtile but nice turquoise (sp?) greenish tinge/effect

Image
Image
here the color looks ALMOST the same (body/headstock)

and the damn "white spot"

but... i love this guitar. A LOT. can't wait to get my red one back from service/setup to play them side by side!

thanks y'all... and rod, more beer for you! :D

i think it looks great. LPB is a pain to photograph, it never quite looks like how it does in real life.

you can use pretty much any brand of compressed air (as the ones to clean computer keyboards, etc.) like dust-off, etc.
hold it UPSIDE DOWN and spray it on the guitar when the clearcoat/finish has recently dried (it also works on older guitars, but it's not as spectacular as when the coat is freshly dried), you'll hear the crackling and all that.
careful with yer fingers, or anything in the spray way... you might get freezer burns etc. OUCH!
tried this last night with my jagmaster. while it didn't give the little tiny age cracks like on pat's stang, it gave long, lateral stress cracks that look totally natural, and really cool. i'm not big into the whole relic thing, but it certainly gives it a look i never would've achieved with a poly guitar.

i recommend it.

I did the canned air thing on my Jag project as well (the green one). It came out great. Whatever kind of air I got, they must have put some shit tasting "flavor" in it to keep people from huffing it. I tasted that crap for days, just from inhaling some of the fumes while shooting it. Terrible stuff.

yep, and somehow, i never really looked back. i mean, a (refin) '63 VI is something QUITE exotic.

strangely, the guy i traded with is now selling it again: http://www.segundamano.com.mx/distrito- ... ginal.aspx

10'000 pesos is around US$800 or so. but i could get it cheaper, in case anyone here wants to pull it back to the SS family.

btw, the weirdest thing happened... unbelievable: i met the original owner's son and got the original case for it. it's beat to shit but SO cool looking. it's holding my beat to shit broncoblaster now.
and he sent me a pic of the guitar, of how it looked before his dad (asshole) stripped it. i almost cried. we all will cry.
look.

Image
MOJO!!!!

it's a REALLY great fuckin' guitar.
but it needs new frets, it's almost unplayable now.

lemme know!

Ya, it should have NEVER been stripped. But it turned out great anyway. I would love to have it, if I had the money.
