these pics show the flaking/crackling effect you get with the "cold" aircan trick:

in all these pics the body looks SO blue, when in reality, it does have some subtile but nice turquoise (sp?) greenish tinge/effect

but... i love this guitar. A LOT. can't wait to get my red one back from service/setup to play them side by side!

i think it looks great. LPB is a pain to photograph, it never quite looks like how it does in real life.

looks great! but I'm not going to lie I kind of dug the feel of how it originally looked too.
Since your heads in the clouds the best advice I found is don't look down.

you can use pretty much any brand of compressed air (as the ones to clean computer keyboards, etc.) like dust-off, etc.

tried this last night with my jagmaster. while it didn't give the little tiny age cracks like on pat's stang, it gave long, lateral stress cracks that look totally natural, and really cool. i'm not big into the whole relic thing, but it certainly gives it a look i never would've achieved with a poly guitar.

i recommend it.

I did the canned air thing on my Jag project as well (the green one). It came out great. Whatever kind of air I got, they must have put some shit tasting "flavor" in it to keep people from huffing it. I tasted that crap for days, just from inhaling some of the fumes while shooting it. Terrible stuff.

btw, the weirdest thing happened... unbelievable: i met the original owner's son and got the original case for it. it's beat to shit but SO cool looking. it's holding my beat to shit broncoblaster now.
and he sent me a pic of the guitar, of how it looked before his dad (asshole) stripped it. i almost cried. we all will cry.

Ya, it should have NEVER been stripped. But it turned out great anyway. I would love to have it, if I had the money.
