So the pickguard came. (: The color is nice as well. It's just gonna take a while until it is completely dry :/

Well it has been a long time now. I hope the paint is cured. It's been in my closet for almost a month. I still need to do some wet sanding to get out the paper towel marks. I ordered the gfs pickups today and the roller knobs/pots. The only things I need now are a jack, pot, and the roller bar mount. Think it is worth it buying a locking trem?

I wouldn't because I don't use the lock on any of my trems with them. The main advantage over functual use is the overall look of the guitar. :)

Nothings wired yet. Still waiting on roller knobs and bracket. Also need to find small 500k pots to fit the close knob spacing of the three knobs.

Looks sexy! I love seeing it come together. The same/similar thrill for me when I see waterslide decals I make custom for people put on a neck. Seeing it go from work to an actual part of a guitar is a lot of fun.

I bet :) I might be interested in a waterslide for my Jagblaster build by the way!

Question about the Cobain Jag: what pots were in it? They have to be really small to fit all three that close. I'm thinking mini pots. But where do I get these and what kind? I have never dealt with mini pots before and do they work the same as standard size pots just smaller?

Many Japanese Fenders used Alpha mini pots (such as the Jag-Stang, rhythm circuit of Jags/Jazzies etc).

I had to use mini's. The Cobain Jaguar used 1meg pots in the lower volume/volume/tone area. :)

Guitar Parts Resource (guitarpartsresource.com) sells them under electronics/pots/mini pots iirc. :)

So the 2nd one on this page? Are the pole pieces the same size for the knobs? They look shorter. http://guitarpartsresource.com/electrical_minipots.htm

I use these

EP-4990-000
1 meg linear taper mini pot. 6mm shaft. Fits roller knob on most import Jazzmaster® models.
$5.49

But it depends on if you want Audio or Linear taper.

I don't know the difference. Care to explain? I usually just go buy some 500k or 250k fender pots and be done with it. All this is new to me with the entrance of the jaguar world haha.

Linear is mathmatic. 0 is 0 and 10 is 10. It goes at a straight angle when you turn the pot from 0-10. Audio is curved because of how our ears hear sound.
