I'm all about inventing colors Cur and i'm thinking that in between shoreline gold and champagne pink would be perfect. It would be original yet still feel vintage. Awesome!

Actually I was going to the paint shop at lunch time to pick something out. They are only open 9-5 weekdays so I kind of have to plan around it. Will let you know what I get.

she said there were 5 different tints in it. not sure how many types of flakes. I am trying to stay with all the same product line so everything I have already purchased is compatible. the smallest I could by was half a pint. so that is about 220 mls and I only used 40mls of base coat to do the other guitar. and that was 5 coats of base coat.

I got the thing primed and ready to go. so maybe if it does not get too hot I can have it painted saturday morning.

You know, maybe it reminds me of my first motorcycle a little bit. Just not quite as orange. Damn I never should have given that thing away.

So, I think I missed this part, what did you use to seal the poplar bodies before shooting your primer coat?

I used two part epoxy. I buy it a Lowes because you can get two big bottles of resin/hardener for about $12. Devcon - 9 oz total. But I don't like it so much because it is 5 minute epoxy. A longer set time is better but work fast and use a bond-o scraper to move it around.. I only did one coat and then used a single edgy box cutter razor as a cabinet scraper to smooth it out. Then sanded. I think I used a dry wall sanding board as a long board and went through the grits from 200, 320 to 600. Then I used high build primer and went to 600 grit.

Hope this helps.

I am in the final stages of putting the robin's egg blue guitar together. I am really loving the copper colored humbucker guitar-can't put it down. Love the six way pickup options and it sustains very well.
