After waiting 4 weeks to get my Harley Benton "Prince" tele Thomann sent me this email today:
"I am very sorry to hear that the delivery of your order failed!
It's of course not normal that the parcel gets lost but unfortunately this sometimes happens. In these cases we ALWAYS start an investigation which normally takes 4 to 8 weeks. We are investigating together with the German Post and are trying to find out the whereabouts of the parcels.
Please note your parcel could still arrive in the meantime - in this case we would kindly ask you to let us know so we could stop the ongoing investigation.
If we cannot find the original parcel, as it has been lost in transit, we will send you a replacement or refund your money - we just have to wait for the closed investigation for
security reasons. We know, this is a bit inconvenient, but unfortunately for legal reasons this is the procedure we have to follow.
Kind regards
Lydia Rodarte-Quayle

Relax, your guitar is about to come. For us who buy over sea it's usuall time - you always know that promised terms of delivery don't work once package left the US(Germany, China, etc). Once package may come in 1,5 of the week, another time in a month or so. But postal services like DHL and USPS don't usually lose anything, your guitar just stucked somewhere. You paid for the list expensive delivery and it doesn't allow you to see detailed track. Big number of disputes with the shop that has Europe as a main market can make them stop to sell any of their products to the US.

Hey Westie, thinking about it - Customs can hold your package for 30-45 days without notification. Obviously a CC dispute has time restrictions, but I'd bet that's where your guitar is. Maybe you'll be the unlucky person who gets dinged for duty
Mine still shows as having cleared customs on the 7th, but nothing else. That's a bit of an annoyance for me, since I had it delivered to San Juan, and I'm in San Juan all week. With my luck, it'll arrive on Tuesday, when I had back to west Puerto Rico.

Getting shit from Thomann all the way to America seems a bit nuts. Hard luck Westy. Hope it turns up soon.

Definitely in the correct directions. I'm more than a bit annoyed that the USPS is handling it as Parcel Post/Parcel Select, especially since right on the USPS website it says "Priority Mail International Parcels".

The doorman signed for it, and I ran home to get it.
No unboxing pics, but the packaging served its purpose. The box it came in was destroyed, but the guitar arrived overall. There's one noticeable scratch in the pickguard, but I don't think it's gotten past the protective plastic. On the plus side, it came with enough packing materials to help me out with my next several shipments.
The neck profile is very similar to my J Mascis Jazzmaster, but the fret ends are a bit sharp. The body looks AMAZING. I haven't had a chance to tune it up or try it. I am unfortunately without an amp until tomorrow evening, so that's when I'll really be able to hear it. Pics shortly. I need to get rid of the giant box it came in.
