Unexpected, and unconventional. Generally both good qualities.

Lol. Gus was just being polite (after he'd wiped the vomit off his lap).

I'm hoping Freddy bought a Jim Root Tele and a Boilersuit.

I bought the Lite Ash. Offered £420, settled on £445. It got delivered to my work this morning, and I took this pic when I went home on my lunch. I haven't had a chance to play it properly yet - will probably give it a clean and string up with some 11s tomorrow, and then put it through its paces at band practice on Tuesday - but first impressions are good.

The wood grain on the body looks ace in the flesh. It looked good in the listing photos, but then a couple of other ones I've spotted online looked like the clear coat was way too thick/reflective. So I was a little worried that the seller on Reverb might just be a clever photographer. Thankfully, it looks great. Decent weight, too. The neck finish is much less glossy than other mid/low level Fenders I've played, which is what I was hoping for. I'm actually tempted to sand it down a little further for even less gloss, but I wanna play it as is for a couple of months first.

My one very minor niggle is that you can sort of just about feel the join between the neck wood and the skunk stripe. I probably wouldn't have even noticed this if it wasn't mentioned in the listing, it's very minor. I'm wondering if I do sand the neck down a little further (as mentioned above), whether the difference in wood might be less noticeable. Excited to take this to band practice anyway, probably gonna do a proper A/B with the Squier.

The abalone fret markers are pretty dark IRL too, definitely no trouble seeing them.

I was led to believe these necks don't have any dots on the side, which was also a concern, but this one has them. Happy days.

Doog, I think I will change the pickguard. This one is aftermarket. It's all original apart from the pickguard and the pickup switch tip, apparently. Considering changing it back to stock (black single ply) or maybe an aluminium/chrome guard.
