I've had all three with rosewood fretboards and i think the Bronco is the thinnest, lovely neck, all of them.
Having played a load of Mustang necks from the same year, I would say that there isn't enough consistency to even get close to saying 'musicmaster', 'mustang' or 'bronco' necks. I would bet that if you played enough of them you'd find one of each that was near identical to play and several that were so far away from what seemed to be the general consensus you wouldn't believe they were made by the same company let alone in the same year.

I meant as in bass. Did they even make a Bronco neck in maple?
I'd love to try a maple Mustang guitar neck. With an Olympic white body, it would be stunning.
Really, though, as much as I like maple, in a guitar, I can't tell the difference and I prefer rosewood because it looks nicer with a matching headstock and matching headstocks look nice with competition stripes and competition stripes make your guitar play faster.

Here's a few of my Fender shorties:
MIM '94(?) DS with long-neck...well, it's a shorty body, anyway...Lace active harness and pickups from a Strat, Floyd the Barber, handmade everything, Sherwood Green, abalone markers...yeah, I gotta lower the pups, for sure:

Wow, awesome. Is that a clear guard that's painted on the second surface? I'd love to see more photos of that guitar.

prolly like a maple neck. i assume the color is clear coated a lot like maple neck would be. maybe it feels different.

The guitar was built on a dare...it's got a really cheap licensed Strat neck with terrible grain so the whole darned neck was treated to a color job, once the abalone markers were put in. I play lots of Ricks so the slick neck feels all right to me.
The guard is second-surface, made from .125" cast acrylic and edges were routed and polished with a nice clean bevel.

Very cool all around. Somehow the gold just
works.
I love the guard because it just appears to be a clear guard laying atop the body, yet no routes or wires are visible. It took my brain a second to process what was going on when I first had a look.

Does it intonate properly with the short body and long neck? Looks very very cool.

That's a Mexican DS body, from the early '90s.
The original DS like my avatar--it's my '59--was offset, though not radically. Still, the waist is not parallel to the ground plane, nor is it perpendicular to the strings. Therefore, offset.
