ahhh... ok. that actually seems kind of useful... sort of. why didn't they just say it was parametric eq? how the hell do they expect to sell something without telling anyone what it is?
The SP-1 is a parametric equalizer with one frequency band only. The spectrum knob sets the frequency range in the interval 500Hz to 5kHz. The balance knob sets the peak within the range.
It isn't a paramtric EQ at all. For an EQ to be classed as parametric it needs to give you the ability to control the frequency, the amplitude and the 'Q'. I can't work out if this is lacking amplitude or Q from that description but it's certainly lacking one of them.

They probably thought Boss PE-1 Parametric EQ sounded dull, so decided to wrap it in a cloud of late 70's mystery....
EDIT - no, it's not a parametric eq, there is a demo on youtube

Sounds like an eq with fixed amplitude but configurable Q and Freq....

soooo.... harmonist arrived yesterday, didn't get to play with it until late last night so was only on quietly
the good:
price
colour
step-on whammy action: set the speed slow then play a chord just after the rise to get that THX effect....
i can finally play 'message in a bottle' properly
key tracking sort of works
the not so good:
battery compartment sux
speed only affects the attack, not the decay rate (same as boss i suppose...)
only up to +12
other pedals are in storage at rehearsal studios, so will have to play with them some other time

yea, the tube thing seems rather gimmicky to me. oh, and does anyone have any idea what the hell this does?
Boss EH-1 Enhancer clone? http://reviews.harmony-central.com/revi ... ancer/10/1
My son has one, bought end-of-line for £15. I picked it out, he was in the queue before me and bought it. Cheek. I still don't know quite what it does, but it was a bargain.
