The American Series is nice, I played an American Standard Stratocaster the other week a guy had had bought for him by his family for his 60th. It was a very nice guitar? Was it better than my Baja Telecaster? Nope. Was it worth the £500 more it costs? Not to me.
What annoys me is the way people flash all this shit around to either prove or disprove an items relative worth. I have a camera. It's a very good camera. It's made in China. Wouldn't I look foolish if I threw a strop and demanded a camera made here in Britain? Especially considering how good that camera already is. Why on earth would I want to have one made in Britain and pay an extra 50% when it will be just the same anyway?
If your camera was made in Britain, it wouldn't fucking work.

But the British made the best tubes in the history of ever, for guitar amps anyways.

Those days are long gone. Something went wrong in the 80s. I believe it was connected to Huey Lewis & The News

British product now is fucking shoddy.

I bought a custom scratchplate for my strat from terrapin guitars, for $30 (£15), £5 shipping, then customs picked up on it, added £2.60 for VAT, then Royal Mail whacked £8 'handling fee' on top...

so does anyone want to get a duo for me and ship it as a gift, thus bypassing the extortionate charges?

wow. i really really really like that duo. i think thats the coolest thing out of the bunch for sure. squier certainly seems to be stepping their game up. seems like they're becoming fender's "fun-outlet" over the last few years.

Any price Andertons puts out, you can knock almost £40 off when they make it onto the net. They're fucking rip-off merchants. No shop in their right mind would go with the RRP for a Squier, they simply won't sell. Too much snobbery. Even Sound Control and Dawsons knock the store prices down to under £200 after the first few months because they know they're only going to shift a few at that price.

The finish looks beauty and the neck looks glossy as all get out.

Wonderful.

+1

Bet people still find stuff to moan about though, tragically.
